It's good to be back

Well hello Ye Mighty Dons!

A new season draws closer and the summer hiatus is now merely a memory.... something of a foggy one for some of us!
With the approach of a new season comes new players, new coaches, new stash - but the same classic claret and blue spirit which makes Dons rugby so very special.

So this weekend sees the first pre-season warm up match for the mens squad. Kick off is tomorrow at 3pm for a game of 4 25 minute quarters. As we all know it has been a very dry summer but the more than capable grounds team at Barham Road have been watering and getting the pitch spankingly ready. Word from Chairman John Woods is that Men's Director of Rugby Stef D'Anna was seen doing a rain dance earlier this week. He must be very good because it is tipping it down just now. Maybe if some of you new players ask nicely he'll show you his moves!

So what do we need? You! That's right - just you. You have had the kids home all summer - they are getting to that point of driving you nuts - what you need is to take them out for the day. Get down to Barham Road, give them some sugary drinks from behind the bar and let them run off! Meanwhile get yourself a more adult-appropriate beverage and get pitch side to watch the new batch of Dons take to the park for the first time together.

From the emails I've seen from Bully - the players are fully prepped and organised - as usual - but you being there to cheer them on would give the season the kick start it needs. It's going to be a great season and it's always made better with the Dons Faithful in Full Voice.

It's good to be back.

See you tomorrow.

Big Love

Badger
