Happy Bloomin' Friday Dons!!!!

Yes we made it to the end of another week - and there is a certain scent in the air. That new season smell - aaah suck it up. New Season - World Cup around the corner - it's a hell of a time to be a rugby fan. Right let's get going!

Guildford at Home
Tomorrow sees the first of the men's pre-season matches at home.

These will be against Guildford with the 2nd XV kicking off at 1.30pm and the 1st XV kicking off at 3pm.
Don't forget chaps if you have any spare WRFC socks and shorts please bring them down as the new kit isn't quite here yet. Keano - your circa 1956 kit need not apply to that.

Touchline support for this younger generation of tyros would be greatly received. Thois is a good one for some of the mini and youth guys to come to as a number of players have come through the ranks and are now taking up the mantle of "stars of the future".
Unfortunately there is a private party at the club tomorrow so the rugby will no be shown in the clubhouse for the general populace but Colour-Sergeant Bull Frog assures me that for those playing a suitable destination will be selected for the imbibing of beverages and the viewing of sporting pursuits!

Ladies Marching On
The Ladies team are now seeing a regular attendance at training of 35+. This is a huge credit to the girls and the organising team behind them as our fab Ladies team goes from strength to strength. Anna Yeardley asked me to kindly congratulate all the players who are making this regular effort - on the park on Wednesday nights and at Bounce on Thursdays - and asks to make sure that fitness partners maintain their additional fitness work over the weekend.

The hard work done now will make the new season a doddle - and we can see this side go from strength to strength!

World Cup World Cup!!!!
I just like saying that - I am so stupidly over excited - especially after seeing the Aussies turn over the Kiwis last weekend - what a tournament this is going to be!
Just a swift reminder - THE WILLIAM WEB-ELLIS trophy will here at WRFC on Sunday 13th September. More details shortly

150th Ball
Right you lot - we need to fill three more tables for this ball. This is no ordinary night and no ordinary occasion. If you are not down yet - I want to know why and I want to know now. Please also remember that we are very open to guests from outside our club.

Honestly chaps and chapettes - this is going to be a real scorcher of an evening. We have some great speakers - some great auctions - and we need just three more tables filled. Get a group together - bring your mates from outside these walls and show off what a fab and welcoming club we have.

The details are on the website here: http://www.wimbledonrfc.co.uk/news/you-shall-go-to-the-ball-1381028.html

Any questions - either ask me or email Meg on the link on the website.

And Finally........
It gives me GREAT PLEASURE to announce that Dylan Morris has been selected for the Welsh Exiles Senior Side for WRU Foster's National 7's tounrament. We wish him all the very best at this event on 30th August and great to see another Don's pup growing into one of the big dogs.

Well done Champ!

Right that is enough twaddle from me.

FYI the supporters email list will be coming into full action next week. If you know anyone who should be on it - please let me know. Thanks to Anna Yeardley for basically doing all the donkey work on this one - as usual - and making me look organised.

See you tomorrow

Big Love

Badger
