End of season approaches

Hullo Ye Mighty Dons,

Well the end of the season is fast approaching upon us and with this I have some good news. It's a biggie so strap yourselves in!

First up last weekend's results:

1st XV vs East Grinstead (loss) 20-15 - match report here
2nd XV vs Sutton and Epsom (win) 30-20: this sees them through for a home semi-final on Saturday!
Ladies vs Bath (loss) 38-14: try scorers were Maddy and Alex. This rounds off a successful season for the Ladies with a solid mid-table finish. It walso the last game for Chloe and Chip - and we wish them well and thank them for their service to the club.

Good news now about our other tennants St George's Medical School (coached by Bryan Croke and Rob Tait) who won the oldest, and at one time the most prestigious, cup in rugby - the University Hospital cup. This is the first time they have won it in 130 years of tryoing so a mahoosive congratulations to the guys on that one! Photos can be seen Here

Right - onto this weekend. Its a biggie: SUPER SATURDAY!
First of all we have the minis with training and matches between 10-11am, followed by the end of season awards - followed by a BBQ, inflatables and some sort of water fight between 12-4pm.

We also have the President's invitational lunch - NEED I SAY MORE? There is still a few last minute places availabel so do get in contact with Mick if you want in - it is £30 for a fantastic afternoon's entertainment. ..... wonder if we will see a few old boy's at the mini's water fight?!

In addition we have the 2nd XV semi-final - oooooooh could it be a grudge match? My lips are sealed! (timings tbc)

The main event is the 1st XV's last home game of the season at 3pm against Westcombe Park. It will be awesome to have a packed touchline to cheer the lads at the end of a long and pretty successful season!

In addition - our friends at Plan-A Insurance are throwing in...... a prize to win a Harlequins signed ball and family tour of twickenham. Sounds good eh? How do I get my mitts on these groovy offerings? Well - it looks like be a throwing competition - so those with a strong right arm (ahem) could be in the money?! This will be taking place throughout the morning and after the mini's training - so get down early. Also - if you do need insurance - check out Plan-A for all your insurance needs. All quotes generated through WRFC earns the club £5 - boom time!

OOf - it's going to be good!

Next up - the end of season dinner. Now this is £25 per head on Friday 13th May and is open to all senior players and I believe the U18s and parents. This is a 3 course din dins with wine and there is a disco afterwards. As is standard there will be prize giving and some dreadful joke by Keano no doubt. To book a place please contact Anna on anna.yeardley@gmail.com. ALL PLAYERS MUST ATTEND - IT'S THE LAW! (poster attached)

I think that is enough form me for now - but do keep your eyes dotted about the club for the 7s tournaments coming up - more about them next week - and see you all for SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPER SATURDAY!

Big Love

Badger
