With a few injuries..

What a start to 2019 that was! A clean sweep for all senior teams on the first weekend!

Let's run down those numbers with glee........

Saturday saw the 1st XV travel to Bedford Athletic for a tough away fixture. However in an utterly enthralling encounter the men in claret and blue came home 20-22 victors. You can read the report here.

The 2nd XV held the fort on Saturday against Old Elthamians as the only home fixture for that day. They ran home winners in a very tough encounter 22-15.

The Strollers travelled to Imber Court to face the ,et Police 2nd XV in another gruelling encounter - with more than a few stoppages. In a fantastically gritty game the strollers came home 21-24 victors. Best of luck to Paul Goss on the recovery from his broken arm and to Tom Shanahan with broken ribs.

Sunday saw the Ladies XV hold the fort in well supported but cold conditions against Drybrook. In a superb display of running rugby the Dons came home 60-17 victors. You can read their match report here.

So a clean sweep to start 2019. Bravo to all who wore the colours this weekend and to all who came out to support. Don't forget the pub quiz is coming on February 8th at £15 per head. This is already 75% sold out - so if you want to get involved email Chairman Wow on johnwoods.wrfc@gmail.com

That's enough from. Enjoy this week - tough fixtures coming up this Saturday though so let's not get complacent.

Have a great week.
