Final roundup before the Easter Holidays

Well here is your final round up before we break for the Easter holidays!

The 1st XV travelled to top of the table Cinderford and unfortunately the home side's strength was too much for the men in claret and blue, leaving a scoreline of 45-8. The match report is on the website here

The 2nd XV had a better outcome travelling to Old Albanians and coming home 7-51 winners! A cracking result.

The 3rd XV hosted Farnham 2nd XV and had a real end-to-end battle with the home side coming through 69-33. A great result again!

Finally the Strollers travelled to play Warlingham 3rd XV and ran out a massive 7-62 winners.

A really good weekend for the men in claret and blue this weekend, and a tough ask for the 1st XV. The Ladies XV will return after Easter to boot.

FUNdraising

Over the last week there has been numerous efforts from the club and the wider community in raising money for Shaun Barns and his family in NZ.

Last Wednesday a load of the club's old (er) lags travelled to NZ House to do some wine tasting (not glugging in any way... ahem), listen to a talk by Sean Fitzpatrick and raise a load of cash in a charity auction. A number of the items were donated by the good people of our club - so a massive thank you to all those who donated items.
The target for the evening was to raise £10K and, with donations still coming in - we have surpassed £11K at this stage! A great achievement.

In addition to this last Saturday - those heady chaps and chapettes of Bounce gym challenged themselves to lift 1,000,000kg at two of their gyms - so they lifted 2,000,000 kg. All of this in aid of Shaun's charity and that of Cancer Research UK. This was achieved at both locations and was helped by not only the bounce instructors but gym members and people from the wider Wimbledon Community. As of yet I haven't the amount raised - but it was an incredible achievement! Congratulations to all involved.

Both of these efforts highlight what it is to be part of our club and community, in support of our friends, and it is something we should all be very proud of.

On that happy note - it leaves me to wish you all a very happy and enjoyable Easter break with family and friends, and we shall resume after the holiday - for the final push.

Big Love

Badger
