Hello All

Hello All
Apologies for the delay: I’ve been away.

Here is Tony Mann’s match report of the final game of the season, another excellent performance from the Wimbledon 1st XV squad, rounding off an excellent first season in Nation 3 London & South East

Just for good measure our 2nd XV squad drew 15 – 15 with Richmond in the final of the league play-off to earn themselves promotion for next season.

Our deep thanks go to all the coaching and support personnel as well as all the others working so hard to ensure the success and enjoyment of the season.

Sadly, our steward, Mick Edmondson, is moving on. They are big shoes to fill and we sincerely thank him for all his input and care over the last 7 years throughout a period of unprecedented development for Wimbledon RFC on and off the pitch. For those of you who did not receive it, below is his farewell.

Evening all,

After much deliberation I would like to let you all know that I will be leaving WRFC in July. It has been a fantastic experience and I have met some wonderful people along the way. It has been amazing to be taken in by the WRFC family and a time in my life I will never forget. Too many people to name but most of you on this email have been amazing in helping transform this great club into what it is now and I am so proud to be a member and a Don for life.

Myself and Lucy were offered a great new challenge transforming Woodies in New Malden and grabbed it with both hands. It is great that we are not far away and with a house down the road and the pub I expect to see everyone quite regularly, hopefully putting money over both the rugby club and Woodies bars.

We will be having a leaving do in early July so keep your eyes peeled for that one, sure to be a big one!! Once again thanks to all the amazing people I have met along the way.

Cheers

Mick

So, with the weather forecast favourable in Wimbledon for this coming week-end, I’ll be turning from touchline support to hunting the shed for a lounger to dust down and settle into….. hopefully with cool refreshments to hand!
Regards to all until next season
