Last home fixture of the season

Good Afternoon Ye Mighty Dons

What a super sunny Friday it is and so here we are at the last home team fixture of the season. It seem a long time ago since we started out August - but we have come long way and what a season it has been. However it is not over yet - so let's get down to business.

So tomorrow the 1st and 2nd XV welcome Shelford to Beverly Meads for two 3pm kick offs. Then on Sunday the Ladies have their last game of the season ALSO AT HOME - against Bath. Don't forget the U16s have a Sunday final fixture against Battersea Ironsides looking to gain promotion as well with an 11 am kick off. So loads of rugby action to look forward to. 1st and 2nd XV team sheets are located below. Support for all these matches is really encouraged - especially on Sunday. The weather should be outstanding so do get to the club and cheer on the lads and the Ladies.

Support for the home teams tomorrow should be in no short supply as prior to the matches we have what used to be known as the President's/VP's lunch - but has now been rebranded as ....... "The Lunch"...... yeah - we have a marketing team for this. Anyway - the format will be as standard. Average joke from President/Dictator-for-life Mike Keane - followed by a fab slap up meal at the hands of our wonderful stewards and catering staff - and then down to the touchline to support the chaps in claret and blue. If you are not already attending "The Lunch" then unfortunately it is fully booked. However - there will still be plenty of fine beverages and snacks on sale at the bar - so let's have a really packed touchline!

Next - for all players in the senior section and in the U18s - the End of Season Dinner (another marketing extravaganza?!) is upon us. This will take place on Friday 12th May - the cost is 30 pounds per head and partners, wives, husband, goldfish etc are all invited. We need to get the numbers in quick - so please can team captains organise tables ASAP with numbers and get them to the very fabulous Anna Yeardley and Shaun so we can cater accordingly. U18s you are invited as you say goodbye to your youth (good luck getting that back!) and are welcomed into the folds of the senior side. In the past we have generally requested you bring one parent or guardian with you as your guest - to thank you for taking them to games and training over the years.

Finally on the 20th May we have a touring side coming to play a vets game at the club. The Cenac Old Blacks from France are coming for tour we look forward to welcoming them in true Wimbledon style. If anyone wants a run out (preferably over 35) and fancies a great day out - please get in touch. A full and welcoming touchline is greatly encouraged.

Right - that is more than enough gibberish from.

Have a great day and see you all in the sunshine tomorrow.

Big Love
