Guernsey mini-tour

Morning Dons and Don-ettes!

As some of you know - the mighty Wimbledon 1st team have a match against Guernsey on September 26th.
Now it has come to my attention that a great many of our supporters enjoy a light ale or ten and so any chance to re-create the tours of their youth are greatly encouraged. Well now here is an opportunity for a group of guys and dolls to do just that.

Headed by tour captain John Woods (him at the bar with the belly *;) winking ) - this is chance to see the beautiful Isle of Guernsey and watch some top class rugby. We recommend getting a few of your mates together and going as a group - or getting in the good books by promising your partner a romantic weekend away?

Now we haven't done this on a whim - we have spoken to Guernsey RFC and they sent us the following:

A few hotels I would suggest are;
St Pierre Park Hotel – 01481 728282 – a 5 minute walk from our Club at Footes Lane and about 30 minute walk into town
Les Rocquettes Hotel – 01481 722146– a short drive or 10 minute walk to our Club and about 20 minute walk into town
The Yacht Hotel – 01481 715488 – located in town, however you would need to book a taxi to our Club as it would be at least a 40 minute walk (partly uphill)
Flights - Aurigny are the only airline which fly direct to Guernsey from London Gatwick, I would advise you to book your flight asap in case of disappointment.
If you were flying from Southampton you have the option of Flybe, Aurigny or Blue Islands.
I would recommend the following restaurants to you (which are situated in town) where you will enjoy a 15% discount as visitors of our club:
Christies The Swan The Boathouse Crabby Jacks (this restaurant is located along the west coast)
Please reserve your table through guernseyreservations@gmail.com and be sure to quote “Guernsey Rugby Club” to have your discount applied.
Please advise me if you will bringing your wife's/partners on this trip? We have are annual Ladies Day taking place on this date and tickets are still available if they would like to attend.

We would like to thank Guernsey for their help here and it would be great to see a load of Dons on the touchline. So if you are not playing that weekend, fancy a trip, or its just an excuse to have a spot of lash and banter - you know what to do. Hotels are filling up fast so get involved soonest.

Big Love

Badger
