Badger has woken up

Well Hullo Hullo Hullo you fabulous Dons you!

So here we are - another Monday and it's a chilly one.
However here are the weekend's round up to warm the cockles and all that jazz.

A mixed bag this week.

First up - lets head to Chichester where the first XV had a big win against the old rivals. I can see the 16-21 result putting a big smile on Bully's face. The match report will be online shortly - but as yet, it is not.

(quickly send out abusive emails to tech team!)
Someone has forgotten that the tech team actually posts these messages for him, as Badgers stubby little paws and tiny Mustelidae brain can't operate technology. We will post the match reports when we actually get any... the tech team.

The 2nd XV, unfortunately went down to 20-6 against Redingensians with the following report from Coach Bertie here:

We went up to National 2 club Old Redingensians on Saturday with a lot of confidence and a very small squad. Came up against a big lumpy pack and held our own and defended our line courageously for 25 mins. We proceeded to walk them back into their 22m zone exerting pressure in attack and on defense. No quarter was given as everyone stuck their body on the line. The 1st half ended 3-3.

The second half was a lot tougher and we retreated into our shells and tried to force it too much instead of consolidating how we ended the 1st half. They passed over for 3 tries, 2 of which were from unforced errors and 1 being a dubious forward pass. Final score 20-6 to Redingensians.

We know what went wrong and we will be back this week against a resurgent Canterbury with a settled team. It will be the benchmark as to how far we have come in this strong Zoo Division 2 over the past 4 months and the lads are looking forward to it.

"Play around with it if you want."

The third XV - the Mavericks (how this has become enough of a thing to get this on the website I don't know) recorded another massive win with a fab mix of old and young. Skipper Jon White's match report is here:

Another win for the Mavericks this week with a team built on a foundation of youth with 7 U21's in the squad.

An impressive debut from Toby at fly half confirms the conveyer built of talent through the club is in rude health. Notable cameos from James Watkins and Stuart Gledhill in the forwards brought some welcome bulk to the pack as did the direct running in the centres from Gav Tusini following his 2nd half introduction.

The final score of 102-5 means Wimbledon 3's remain out in front at the top of the league and the unbeaten run continues with a trip to 3rd place Old Tiffinians on the 10th of December.

So that's all from me for this Monday.

Don't forget for those of you wanting a social run we have Thursday night touch this and every week at 8pm.

See you then.

Big Love

Badger
