Well here we are Dons! - the last 24 hours before the start of the season.

Well here we are Dons! - the last 24 hours before the start of the season.

Judging by the atmosphere at training last night - this is going to be a cracking season. Some of the haircuts of the newer players are literally begging for abuse.......

However - let's get onto the more important stuff!

Tomorrow we have quite frankly the strongest line up I have ever seen for a 1s and 2s turnout.
Here is the schedule for the day:

Midday - the Matt Bond memorial Cricket match.
Can all participants please be at WRFC for 11.30pm in your whites.

12.30pm - Old Johnonians k/o
We welcome our new residents at WRFC in their first league match of he season

Supporters Lunch - meet at 1pm for a 1.30pm sit down.
Last chance to join this today - only £12 for 2 cracking courses - email Mick

The 2nd XV kick 1.30pm vs. Effingham and Leatherhead 1st XV

The Main Event - WRFC 1st XV vs Shelford - 3pm

In addition to this we have all the international matches too and it should be a real cracker of an evening so we look forward to seeing you there.

Unfortunately the Ladies original fixture had to be cancelled as Hammersmith and Fulham were unable to field a side. However they will be playing Worthing away on Sunday - so best of luck there ladies.

U21s Storm to a winning start!
Last night saw the newly formed Wimbledon U21s take on their first opponents in the form of Kings Old Boys (last year's U21 plate winners) and come away with a 19-17 win in a pulsating match.
Dylan Morris and Sharif Doug shared three tries between them - and the coach of Kings commented after the game how shocked he was with the ferocity of the Wimbledon tackling and the aggressiveness of the counter-rucking.
The future is looking very bright indeed - congratulations chaps.

And finally......
This Sunday Paul McKittrick takes to the road to ride the London to Brighton for breakthrough breast cancer research. This is almost exactly a year since he was knocked off his bike and nearly killed last year so please put a quid in for the chap and help get him over the mark for a very worthy cause.

Right - see you all tomorrow - I am sooooo excited. Should be a cracker.

Big Love
