A fine Sett of results

Good Morning Ye Mighty Dons!

As the headline suggests we have had our first clean sweep of the season with all senior Dons teams coming home with the goods! In honour of this, as you can see, I have decided to give the sett a good clear out. Lets run down the results!

On Saturday the 1st XV travelled to Westcliff looking to avenge the previos week's defeat. Westcliff was to be no easy opposition having produced an impressive score the week before - and vying with the Dons for top spot! Well Wimbledon cam home winners 5-24 in an impressive display of complete rugby. The match report isn't quite up yet - but you will be able to find it on the site when it is....... hope fully soon

The 2nd XV had a bye weekend so the 3rd XV had a good crowd to watch them take on Guildford 2nd XV at home. As with all Wimbledon teams this weekend, another win was recorded with a scoreline of 24-22, showing some really great heart and spirit from the boys in claret and blue!

The Strollers of the 4th XV travelled to local side Old Emmanuel and managed to just scrape home with an 80-0 victory, showing some genuine flair in attack and some true resilience in defence against a very large pack.

Sunday saw the Ladies XV continue their seemingly never-ending spell of away matches. Tough for any team to start their season with - and it has been a tough start for them with their head coach being away to boot. However with a guest coach in tow the Ladies dutifully headed off to DryBrook and came home with a stonking 17-60 victory. You can read their match report here..... at least some people round here are organised.....
Well done to all teams donning the colours this weekend!!!

Fireworks Extravaganza (see dedicated news posting here)

Llots of you have asked about how to get tickets. Well the easiest way to do this is to buy them over the bar. We are NOT looking to sell them on the night as they will be gone by then. However - if you want a free (?) ticket - you can offer to help run one of the stands - barbecue things - stuff like that. If you want to do that - you need to contact Zoe. Drop me an email and I can put you in touch.

Ok that's enough for me right now. I am going to finish clearing out this sett to make room for more Wimbledon trophies! Train hard and let's have another cracking weekend to come.

Big Love
