Words from the Badger....

Good Afternoon Ye Mighty Dons!

Thanks to Anna for covering for me last Friday. So here we are in the first week of October and the Autumnal temperatures are starting to creep in, and shorts and flip flops are slowly being replaced by jeans and boots........ except for Marc Bertrand who wears the combo 365 days a year!

OK here are this week's reports.

On Saturday the 1st XV and 2nd XV travelled to Bury St Edmunds. Unfortunately the 1st XV lost 48-23, match report is here (apologies for late posting - webmaster)

The 2nd XV fared better with a strong performance seeing them over the line with a 17-27 victory - continuing their winning run.

At Beverley Meads the 3rd XV (are we still calling them the Mavericks?!) hosted Effingham and Leatherhead's 2nd XV and won convincingly with a 61-3 margin.

Now onto other matters.

FIREWORK NIGHT!

Ok this is on the 28th October and tickets can be purchased over the bar and are as follows:

£7.50 Adults
£5.00 Children
£20 Family (2 adults, 2 children / 1 adult, 3 children)

The event starts at 6pm and has a BBQ, Cakes , raffle, bar (obviously) and stuff that flies around and goes bang! You know the drill. This is a fundraising event for the club and for Willington School - it would be really great to see a load of the senior sides there as well. I have attached a poster with this email!

QUINS TWICKS TICKETS!

Right the club has some cheap-ish tickets for sale from our chums at Quins. These are for the Big Game 10 on 30th December to see the local lads take on the Northampton Saints.

Tickets are:

Adults £21.00
Child U16 £11.00

You need to order these over the bar and pay for them in advance. You cannot pick your seats but they will be in a block. This will be a great way to get out of the house after the Crimbo family and food-athon and before the lunacy of NYE.

Ok that's all the notices from me this week. We are back at Beverly Meads this weekend for the 1st and 2nd XV's and, those rumblings you have heard from the local graveyard indicate that, the Strollers make their welcome return to the season.

Big love

Badger
