Morning Dons

Morning Dons!

Happy Tuesday to you all!

OK let's get started. New season is achingly close.........

Pre-Season Fixtures

First of all well done to both the 1st XV and the 2nd XV in their pre-season warm-up matches against Guildford last weekend. The 2nd XV ran away 43-22 winners with a very impressive display demonstrating a huge depth of potential that our squad possesses this season. The 1st XV came up just shy losing 38-36 to a last minute penalty. With a large number of our 1st XV from last season unavailable - both sides showed huge promise. We would also like to thank our visitors Guildford for coming along and playing with a great spirit. Thank you to all our supporters last weekend as well - it was great to see so many of you

OK onto this weekend. We welcome Barnes AT HOME to WRFC on Saturday - NOT AWAY - as was fixtured. The 2nd XV will be playing at 1.30pm and the 1st XV will be playing at 3pm. Please do come down and support. I know that Barnes are intending to turn up with a fairly large contingent so let's not be shown up with a bare touchline at our own club and match the supporting efforts from last week.

Sunday - will see the first of the Ladies pre-season matches. They welcome Chesham to WRFC at 2.30pm. Again a good touchline of support will be very welcome - and with the large numbers turning up at training - it looks to be a promising season for the girls as well.

Tour
Men's sides - I am expecting some hands up to put yourself forward for tour roles - in helping to arrange and co-ordinate this one. We have some ideas of destinations. Now we need man-power. Who's in?

Pedalling PlugMan
This weekend sees our very own Paul McKittrick partake in the London-Brighton Cycle race. This is a brave effort for our chap as he was knocked off his bike almost a year ago and nearly killed - so he is summoining up a fair bit of courage to give this a go. He is raising money for prostate cancer research and you can donate using the link below. He only wants to raise around £100 but I reckon we can get him over that.

And Finally............
It gives me great pleasure to announce (though most of you know anyway) that former club Captain Andy Kerr and Ladies Stalwart Liz Essex welcomed Oliver John Kerr into the world last Thursday night. Both Mum and baby are doing well. On behalf on the whole club we pass them our nest wishes and wish them all every health.

Right that's enough from me for now. I'm off to scrape around for some banter - as this missive is savagely lacking in the stuff. I'm sure there must be some lying around here........

Have a good one Dons!

Big Love

Badger
