Here is the round up of the weekend's results.

Good Evening Ye Mighty Dons!

Here is the round up of the weekend's results.

It was another tough day at the office for the 1st XV, who traveled to London Irish to play the Wild Geese. Even though they put in a valiant performance the injury list proved too much for the men in claret and blue as they fell short 60-6.
The 2nd XV also traveled to Sunbury but also found that the injury list was too hard as they came in second with an agonizingly close 39-34.
The Strollers managed to bring some good news to the results table as they faced local rivals Old Ruts in a home game. In a close and exciting match they managed to come from behind to put up a 33-19 victory to warm the cockles. Great to see former 1st XV fly half of by gone years Alistair Wood running out.

Anyway - next weekend beckons and lets look forward to what that holds. Now onto the news:

First up - a massive congratulations to all the team who organised Saturday night's Fireworks display. It has been considered a resounding success raising funds for both the club and Willington school. Zoe Hill and her team deserve much kudos.

Secondly - LUNCH THIS WEEKEND. As many of you know - whenever we have a 1st XV home game we entertain the blazers and guests of our visitors. It is a short and pleasant hour pre-match to indulge in Shaun's good cooking and good company. A real tradition of the game indeed. Anyway - this weekend Chairman John Woods is rather short of guests - AND as we have an injury list as long as my arm - it would be great to see as many of that list in the club for lunch to support the home side. Please contact John directly for a place.

Thirdly - MONEY. As last Saturday proved we are much more than a rugby club but also a community hub. We raise money not just for our club but also for our local area to promote the values and ideas that we in rugby believe in. In light of this I ask that all persons reading this click on the https://community-fund.aviva.co.uk/voting/project/view/17-3841.

This link allows you to vote - the more votes we get, the more money we get to put into our projects at the club and the grounds to help benefit us and our community. Simples.

FINALLY - I'm off. I will be away for the next few weeks on my hols. In the meantime your weekly emails will be covered by the fab team of Anna, Meg and Woodsy - so hopefully they might be interesting for once!!!! Thanks to those guys and good luck to all the Dons teams playing over the next few weeks and don't forget to sign up for the city lunch!

See you soon.

Big Love

Badger
