Good Afternoon ye Mighty Dons!

Well what a weekend that was! For the men's sides we saw a clean sweep of victories and a tough performance from the Ladies. Results are as follows:

1st XV won away to Eaton Manor 12-10 - gutsy stuff boys - match report will be online soon.
The 2nd XV won at home to London Cornish 29-19 - match report on the website
The 3rd XV continued their winning streak against Bec Old Boys with a dominant 64-3 win.

Unsurprisingly there was something of a social in the club house post match with the 2s and 3s getting the party started early only to be joined by the 1st XV arriving fresh off a bus trip (the bus driver is still having counselling). Reports came in of Jimmy Gillespie scrumming down with Nick Easter and Aviva Premiership Player of the month Nick Evans last seen walking sideways. Rory Bland from the 3rd XV was also spotted buying carpet cleaner on Sunday morning after a savage spell of reverse-drinking.

The Ladies have a sterner Sunday against league leaders Southampton Trojans:
Southampton Trojans came to Beverley Meads on Sunday as leaders of the league having being relegated into Championship South West 2 at the end of last season. The easy game that they expected certainly did not happen, having beaten most teams by 60 plus points they were overheard at the end of the game saying that they thought they were going to put 100 points on the board and they certainly were not expecting such a tough game. Whilst Wimbledon Ladies came second they played with guts and determination, they dug deep and did not give up, it was a performance to be proud of and a real show of their team spirit, the score certainly did not reflect the game, final score Wimbledon Ladies 0-44 Southampton Trojans.

Ok another action-packed weekend approaches:
The 1st XV take on Gravesend at home.
The 2nd XV are away to Chobham
The 3rd XV are at home to the Law Society
The Ladies are at home to Bath.

Do come down and support our teams - it is always invaluable. This Saturday also sees the VP's lunch so it should be a grand old occasion. The club looks fab and the pitches are in fine order thanks to all the hard work of Groundskeeper Philly. It is a great time to be a Don.

A swift reminder that we are in the invaluable position of being very player-heavy at the moment so if you do not make selection for one week - keep training and playing in the teams you are allocated to and fight for those positions. We are not far off at all from that belkoved fourth team of players. Any props you know would come in with welcome arms to help us all out.

Don't forget the 5th December - the Club Christmas Party. If last week is anything to go by it should be a stunner. Start inviting mates and partners and partner's friends etc for a monumental kick off to the festive frivolities. Last night at training a certain Irish Prop was heard to comment:

"At the Christmas party lads, is it possible we can actually remember what goes on this time please?"

Uh...... get your coat love.

Right - that's enough from me.

Let's go get 'em Dons!
Big Love
