Announcing our Women's Coaching and Management set up for the upcoming season

We are really pleased and excited to announce our Women's Rugby coaching and support set up for the 2018/2019 season. Following one of the most successful seasons on record, Wimbledon Women are ready for the challenges that the coming season will bring.

Saner Hasan, Bounce PT, will build on his first season as coach and is joined by Scotland Women's International, Jade Konkel. In June 2016, Jade was appointed as the first professional female rugby player in Scotland and has 32 15s caps and two 7s caps to her name. She has spent the last year playing rugby at LMRCV in the Top 8 Championship in France and is now laying her roots in Surrey, playing for Harlequins in the Tyrell’s Premier 15s. Alongside this, she is beginning her senior rugby coaching journey here at Wimbledon. Her specialist forwards knowledge and professional attitude will be a wonderful addition to the team.

Hannah Gutteridge will continue as Captain and will be supported by new Vice Captain, Maz Nejand. Meg Gardiner remains as Team Manager and Anna Yeardley will continue to represent the Women's team on the Club's Executive Committee.

Wimbledon RFC welcomes Jade and Maz into their roles and looks forward to working with the whole team in the coming season. If you're interested in joining Wimbledon Women's rugby, please email women@wimbledonrfc.co.uk – we train on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 7.30pm and pre-season has already started. Come down and join the fun!
