Results from the weekend
A comprehensive victory for the 1XV against an unfortunately depleted Twickenham side, much akin to the position Wimbledon found themselves in last season. We wish them the best in their efforts to bounce back next season. Click here to read the full match report.
With the 2nd place play off, at home, already confirmed for Wimbledon. It was just a case of waiting for confirmation of our opponents from London 2 South East - this has been confirmed as Charlton Park, who will visit on the 21st April to fight it out for promotion to London 1 South. All of your support will be needed to give the boys a boost ahead of this important fixture.
In the only other action this weekend, the 3XV secured top spot in their league with a solid win against Arioch Crusaders - so congratulations to them from all at the club.
Upcoming fixtures - March 2012
31st March 1XV vs Effingham & Leatherhead (away) 2XV vs Jersey (home) 3XV vs Twickenham (away) Strollers vs Teddington (away) St Georges vs KCS Old Boys (home)
Player sponsorship
As well as our main club sponsors, a number of our players are individually sponsored by local businesses, employers, friends or family. Their contribution, which is primarily used to support the players on match days covers everything from the necessary physio equipment to travel for away games.
As always we are truly grateful for your continued support, and look forward to welcoming you to the club at some point this season to see your chosen player in action and to share some Wimbledon RFC hospitality with you.
If you are interested in sponsoring your favourite Wimbledon player, please speak to Matt Bond or Steve Platts, who can normally be found propping up the bar in the clubhouse. Alternatively drop them an email at; mbond@mcr.uk.com or stephen_platts@hotmail.com

Player sponsorship
rather than you personally pay subscriptions, and as with previous years, perhaps you can find a local business or your employer who would be interested in sponsoring you this season. The cost of sponsorship is £250 plus VAT, and you will get their company against your name in the match day programme and on the website. If you are not able to secure player sponsorship, you will be asked to pay your membership and details will be circulated shortly.
Should you be able to secure a player sponsorship, please contact Matt Bond or Steve Platts.
