Good Afternoon Ye Merry Dons!

Good Afternoon Ye Merry Dons!

The Christmas period is now definitely upon us and the time for roaring fires, well decorated trees and present wrapping is here.
With that in mind - there is loads to get through - so let's get started asap!

First up - last weekend's results:
The 1st XV travelled to Tonbridge Wells and unfortunately, once again, came up short losing 46-15. However these results do not reflect the ambition and belief of this young Wimbledon side. Keep the faith you Barham Road faithfuls!

Now - onto this weekend.
There is a load going on - but before we get onto the rugby - lets deal with the big event. The Grand Opening of the new Changing rooms . To honour this grand occasion, we have the Rt Hon Stephen Hammon MP coming to open proceedings at 12pm. You can even get a tour of the new facility from 11.30pm. There will of course be a LUNCH for the minimal sum of £15 and a look at what the future has in store for Wimbledon with Dick Dunford to boot. All of the details of the day can be found on the poster attached. If you want a seat at the lunch - and I strongly suggest you do - then email: chair@wimbledonrfc.co.uk

Following this there will be the 1st XV against Broadstreet, whilst the 2nd XV take on Colchester. Those dashing lads of the Old Johnians will also be in action against the Met Police.
Away from Barham Road those old nags of the Strollers are travelling to play Reeds Weybridge to play their 3rd XV.

Sounds like a seriously good Saturday to be at the club.

WRFC City Lunch

Last Friday saw the inaugural Wimbledon RFC city lunch. This was well attended by club members, both of the old lag variety as well as current players, as well as a great selection of mini and youth Dads. The guest speaker was legendary premiership player and international Simon Shaw who, for a man who apparently doesn't do a good speech, gave a cracking talk to all and sundry. The lunch also included a fund-raising auction presided over by TV personality and rugby enthusiast Addison Gelpey.
As a calendar date - this is definitely one for next year and one you should all be putting in your diaries now. A first class event, so well done to all involved in organising this.

Right - that's enough from me for now.

Have a great week and GET THOSE LUNCH REQUESTS IN EARLY!

Big love

Badger
