What a weekend that was!

Good Afternoon Ye Mighty Dons

Well what a weekend that was - and the final March towards the end of the season goes ever onward!

So here is the review f the weekend's action.
The 1st XV travelled to Guernsey for an absolute ripper of a game! I was kept fully up to date by an old Guernsey supporting Uni chum - who finally messaged me with an utterly gutted missive. Yes the boys in claret and blue persevered for a 29-38 victory. You can read the match report here and it is a corker!
The 2nd XV also travelled away - this time to Canterbury where they faced the Pilgrims team and also had a hard fought victory coming home with a 12-41 scoreline. With the mavericks opposition pulling out - the Wimbledon Men's senior teams had a clean sweep at home.

This weekend takes on an extra element as it is the last home game for the 1st XV and with the 2nd XV at home and the President's lunch it should be a great day at Beverley Meads. Further to this - the fine men of the Mavericks have their last game of the season - against Battersea Ironsides for a winner take all clash for the league's bragging rights. It's all terribly exciting.
Finally the Wimbledon Ladies, now safe in their league, have their last game of the season on Sunday in a home fixture against Bath. Do please come down and support.

Lastly, you may remember me last week mentioning the U16s and their promotional clash against Battersea Ironsides this Sunday (11am, home) - also against Battersea Ironsides (what is it with those guys?!) I said that Tyrone was their head coach - apparently he is not a head coach but merely a parental underling / assistance and wishes not to be known as a head coach in any way.
Well - I'm glad that's sorted.

Right - 'tis enough from me.
I'm off to work on my badger tan before the summer season. One likes to look more black with bronzed stripes for that Beach Broc Bod! It says so in all good Badger magazines.
Have a good week all.

Big Love

Badger
