Good Morning Ye Mighty Dons

Good Morning Ye Mighty Dons!

Well here is your Wednesday update. As you can see from the image - I am currently going through trials to see if I can connect with the loud speaker better on a Saturday. This should fix the feedback issues!

So onto last weekend and a tough line of results for the Dons.

The 1st XV welcome Civic Service Stags to Beverley and the flew out to the blocks. In a thoroughly intense encounter which showed flair and great rugby from both sides, the visitors eventually came in winners 21-22. You can read Tony Mann's match report here.

The 2nd XV showed some real character against a tough Rams side at home, running in at half time 0-26. The final result, even though a loss was 24-26.

The 3rd XV travelled to Cobham and also, again after much heart, came home with a defeat in the region of 40-29.... don't quote me on that figure.... someone (possibly Marc Bertrand... ahem!).... hasn't updated the scores.

Finally the strollers welcome Sutton and Epsom to Beverley Meads - a fixture everyone at the Dons loves to have and at last a victory for the weekend- 24-12. A tough game and some big hits - but it always puts a smile on the face to beat the local rivals. Many thanks go out to Sutts for fielding the fixture at the last minute after a late drop out from Old Reigations.

Thanks go to all who stayed at the club into the evening on Saturday to enjoy the cracking sunset and good company - made a really first class day of it. For those of you supporters who are yet to experience the home fixtures - do get yourselves down to support!

So - onto this weekend. Another full house of rugby for the senior teams playing as the Ladies XV also rejoin the fray after a small hiatus in their fixture list, whilst the 2nd XV have the weekend off. The 1st XV head to Westcliff for a top of the table clash -and support for this fixture would be greatly appreciated! Its not too far and this is a BIG fixture for the season - and obviously one we want to win. Beware a wounded Dons side........?

That's enough from me for now. More on this weekend's fixtures come Friday.

Big Love

Badger
