Good Evening Ye Mighty Dons!!!

Well what a weekend that was!!! Round up of all the action coming up - but please read to the end as their is an IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM club secretary MEG which you all need to help with.

But first - here is the round up. First game of the weekend was last Thursday and saw the Ladies XV take on Sutton and Epsom away in the cup and coming home 10-19 winners. A cracking result in freezing conditions. Read the match report here

Friday saw the Mavericks of the 3rd XV take on KCS Old Bpys, again in Cup Action! This time they returned home 0-34 victors. Another storming victory away from home.

Saturday came and the 1s and 2s travelled to Henley. The 2nd XV kicked off first and carried on the travelling run of victories with a 5-26 point win.

Then the 1st XV kicked off and fought for their best victory of the season with a 0-19 win. You can read the match report here.

So 4 teams away - and 4 victories! You can't ask for more than that from a weekend! Only - here is to more of the same....

Now - the following is a REALLY IMPORTANT message from Meg - please read and act on it asap. It's that big

As you may know, Wimbledon has been chosen by the RFU to have an Artificial Grass Pitch installed paid for by the RFU and used by us for a minimum of 12 hours per week and the local community outside that. Our application has gone through to planning stages (link to the planning documents is at the bottom of this email) and we are moving towards a delivery date of the beginning of the 2018/2019 season. We are the only club in the area through to this stage and as you can imagine, it's very exciting!

But, in order to move this process forward we need YOUR help please. If you feel that you may want to support this application, we would be grateful if you could write to Merton expressing that. You can do so by emailing planning.representations@merton.gov.uk with the following information.

Application reference number - 18/P0183
Your name
Your address
Planning application description - Installation of Artifical Grass on existing rugby pitch at Wimbledon RFC
