A blustery grudge match which was played in high spirits
What else would you do on the coldest day of the year so far?!
Wimbledon v Teddington is always a tough match as the results over the last few seasons will show. It doesn't seem to matter how each of our seasons are going, the results of this fixture will always be hard fought and won't necessarily reflect the trend. The same can be said about Saturday's fixture. We went to bed on Friday night ignoring the weather forecast and hoping for a glorious spring day like we had last weekend. Unfortunately our prayers weren't answered and we played the coldest, windiest fixture of the season! Everyone pulled together and after a short, sharp warm up (after changing in a Scandinavian inspired changing room which barely fitted our forwards in and had no door!) we were raring to go. We were frustrated not to come away with the win but were only equalised in the last minute of the game from an intercepted pass.
The fixture was the friendliest fixture we've had against Teddington for the last few years and we're looking forward to meeting them next season. Congratulations to Maz who was awarded Forward of the match for her awesome attacking lines, Jose who was awarded Back of the match for bossing the game from scrum half and Kim who was awarded Player's Player for her incredible tackles and attacking runs at centre.
We enjoyed a good night out afterwards and the end of the season is in sight...this means more celebrations are in order!
