The Dons are excited to announce Chris Wilkins as our new Director of Rugby for the upcoming 2026 season.
Currently Director of Rugby at Whitgift School and most recently Head Coach at Esher RFC, Chris brings a wealth of experience and a deep network of contacts to the club. He is a highly respected figure in the game, known for his ability to develop talent and his passion for the rugby community.
The Vision – Support & Development
Chris’s focus is to help our rugby programme grow, ensuring it is rewarding and enjoyable for everyone at the club.
Mentoring & Strategic Guidance
Chris will support Men’s Head Coach Leon Driscoll and Women’s Head Coach Jack Kremer, as well as the wider men’s, women’s, boys’ and girls’ coaching teams. He will act as a sounding board on strategy and be involved in on-pitch coaching where needed to support overall development.
The Pathway
A key priority is the development of our U16s, Colts, and U22s (boys and girls). Chris will lead the transition for our homegrown talent, making the step into senior rugby seamless and exciting.
Building Depth
Using his experience and contacts, Chris will help recruit and retain players to strengthen the 1st and 2nd XVs, with the goal of getting a 3rd XV back out regularly. There will also be a strong focus on growing our senior women’s game and ensuring high-quality coaching across all youth sections.
Chris is here to ensure that every player and every coach, at every level, continues to develop and, most importantly, enjoy their rugby.
Welcome to the Dons Chris.
