After a storming start to the year with 2 out of 2 wins the women hit Hammersmith in high spirits looking to continue the trend.

A tough start with an early intercept leading to a converted try for Hammersmith and then a similar backs try from Hammers taking it to 14-0. But the smart cookies that the dons women are read Hammers attack like a book sorted out their defence and the comeback was on.

First from a classic Gutteridge intercept where she sped her way to the try line and went on to convert her own try. Next up we’re two cracking back tries from Sophie Storey and Jade Wharemate. Cruising through defenders, Jade even had time to causally get to the middle of the posts and slowly put the ball down Kiwi style. Both converted- we went to half time in the lead 21-14.

The dominance continued after half time with the Dons keeping Hammers stuck in there own half. Next up came a cracker of a try from our nippy hooker Willow- using the creativity we had been working on in training.
And then the try of the day- with a tear in his eye coach Jordan watched us bring the ball down from a line out into a maul and power it over the try line text book style with Sarah Methven putting down over the line.

Final score 31-14 and 2023 the year of dons women continues.
