For the first away match of the season, Wimbledon's Women traveled to South East London. With the sun shining and the mercury hitting a balmy 28 degrees, this was always going to be a tough but glorious afternoon. As the final score of 8-14 suggests, this was a very tight fixture in all senses of the phrase but the good weather allowed our new winger, Ellie Seagrave, and our newly placed centre, Emily McMullen, to shine – both scoring fantastic tries. It will make for a very interesting return fixture in December!
As always, we really enjoyed welcoming new faces to our squad - Emma Kinnaird joins us from Kings College London, Tara Delargy joins us from Leeds University, Zoe Adams joins us from Nottingham University, Willow Ingleton joins us from York University and Kate Sharpe joins us from Oxford Brookes. The future of Women's rugby at Wimbledon is looking very bright!
